Several products from Estonian Remedia distillery have already been reviewed in this blog. Remedia, which is now part of a Luxembourg group Amber Productions, produces various alcoholic beverages in the municipality of Kuusalu, northern Estonia. A 50 cl bottle of rhubarb liqueur cost €5.99.

The liqueur is light pink in the glass, clear and running easily, meaning it is not a very sugary liqueur. The aroma is fruity, sweet, and has only a hint of rhubarb flavour. The taste also resembles some kind of fruit candy. It has some fruitiness like sour apple, with a suitable acidity and sweetness. The taste is quite original, but you wouldn’t know it as rhubarb without seeing the label on the bottle. The taste is quite pleasant and the liqueur is very easy to sip. It’s also very suitable for drinks to give sweetness and light acidity. The liqueur’s shortcomings are that there is very little of the promised rhubarb flavor. The taste is mostly like artificial flavors also. It’s unlikely that real rhubarb has been used for production.
